Not usually woken by messages that come in during the night but I guess it was meant to wake me

tearing me apart
I just want to runaway and cry
I don't know what to do
You're tearing my heart apart and I feel like all I can do is stand here and watch it happen.
I don't want to deal with this right now
It's just terrible timing
What do you want?
Why is it so hard to control emotions
I just wanted to live an emotion free life for a while
I wanted to focus on myself
but you're always on my mind
life's tough, I guess I gotta be tougher
I hope I make the right choices

POTW: Hard mesh phone case + Rimmel lip gloss + Floor length dress
A few weeks ago I decided to get a new case for my phone, I had a soft plastic one originally but the dodgy design got me really frustrated. The case did not have the right alignment of grooves for the external buttons which made it really hard to press them. And the colour and design was pretty boring. So for $1.32 with free shipping why not get a new one.
Had to choose purple. I might get a few more when I go to HK at the end of the year if I see any colours that I like for cheaper than $1.32 (unlikely).
Only has one problem, the little holes in the case are a dust and fluff trapper. But one wipe and they're all gone so nothing incredibly problematic. The case also provides no assistance to drops unlike my previous one which was a little squishy/cushiony.
No picture of the lip gloss as it's just a standard bright pink lip gloss but what is surprising is the list of ingredients. It is really really really ridiculous the amount of chemicals they put in considering its a lip product so you actually end up eating it. I hope my body is capable of excreting all those nasty chemicals, I don't want aluminium building up in my cells.
I realised I actually didn't take a picture with a full length of my dress during my ball since I didn't bring a memory card for my camera (genius!). Only have a really crappy one from my phone. Absolutely love this dress, it's so comfy. Only problem is its really body hugging so I look pregnant. Dress itself cost me $16 (that is correct, but no one needs to know the price when I wear it). I needed express shipping and the shipping turned out to be more expensive than the dress ($21), that part burnt the most.

POTW: Adidas Trackies + New Jewellery Stand/Board
Do you have the same problem when looking for trackies? That they're soo long you're essentially just sweeping the floor with them? I've been in need for a new pair of trackies as one of my old pairs have holes in both knees and a hole in the butt (I have no idea how that happened). So when I heard of the 40% Adidas sale I wanted to see if I could find some. It was 40% off at the outlet stores only (even better =] ).
So the boy and I were browsing around looking through the racks and racks of trackies that were way too long for either of us. Until I decided to check out the kids section and what do you know, trackies that FIT!! And the design was way better than the womens ones of the same price.

Perfect length =]
I love that they have cuffed bottoms so they don't drag as much especially when I'm playing Ultimate Frisbee. I always end up with soaked bottoms after frisbee cos my trackies are too long. However I'm not a fan of the back pocket, I much prefer side pockets. For $21 I can't complain. Length is more important than pockets.
My cleats I got for frisbee are also kids shoes. I love how I'm at pretty much the largest kids size, it saves me a lot of money =]
I cleaned out my wardrobe+ room earlier this week as it got incredibly messy during the semester. I had a cork board sitting next to my desk that had no purpose other than being a nuisance and also necklaces that I'd been chucking wherever convenient, put the two together and I get a tidy useful non nuisance cork board. I need some more pins though and definitely more necklaces =]
How do you organise you're jewellery?

POTW: New Safeway Trolleys and Awkward Animals
Has anyone seen the new Safeway trolleys? The shallower ones that are black? I think Coles released the shallower trolley first so Safeway had to follow suit (well at least I think this is the case) and to try and beat the Coles design Safeway decided to add a BAGUETTE holder/flower holder. It is much like the baby seat in the normal trolleys just that it has two holes. Unfortunately I don't have a picture of it YET and I'll make sure I'll take one when I get a chance to. But the idea is sooo ridiculous.
1. No one buys baguettes from safeway.....
2. Assuming the idea behind it is to keep the bread from being squished, aren't baguettes hard? Meaning they don't really squish, unlike normal loaves of bread (which most people eat+buy) which by the way fit perfectly into the baby seat.
3. Who wants to walk around with a massive bread stick pointed at the roof?
So what was Safeway thinking?
2 nights ago I received some belated birthday presents from my girls and now can proudly say I have an Awkward Zoo (minus a few I have yet to get). If you're a bit lost, go Youtube Wongfu Productions, 3 creative guys who make short films and other cool videos. They've grown heaps in the past few years and have their own online store with clothing and soft toys. One of the lines of soft toys are the Awkward Animal collection which are incredibly cute.

From L-R: Awkward Bunny, Awkward Panda, Awkward Turtle and Awkard Rhino. The first 3 are new ones and the rhino was from the boy last year. Aren't they all sooo cute!! |
They currently reside on my bed with the Coyote (who is actually kind of freaky to wake up to).
Thanks so much girls!!!
Spent quite a bit of money in the past week, mainly due to purchasing my ball dress (the shipping was more than the actual dress =[ ). Also bought a new phone case. Hopefully my goodies will be in the mailbox soon awaiting me.
Do you still sleep with soft toys?
Poor rhino gets the living daylight hugged out of him when I miss my boy.

POTW: $5 Katies bag and Cheetos
Katies chain detail bag in mocha |
As most of you probably know Katies is a middle aged womens (*cough* old lady) shop but I found a $20 off discount code (spring20) + they currently have free shipping so I managed to snag this bag for $5 online. Sorry they don't have any of this bag left. The bag is surprisingly big and is able to carry A4 sized books and my netbook. I know it doesn't look that appealing but for $5 I really can't ask for much.
I've let myself buy a little treat every fortnight and this one was it for last fortnight. This fortnight was a new basic long sleeve top for work/everyday.
I was craving chicken Twisties for some reason so when I was picking up milk and bread after work today I had a quick look at the chip aisle and saw chicken Twisties were on sale but somehow ended up buying Cheetos instead. Go figure. Haven't had Twisties in ages but Cheese and Bacon Balls somehow won this time. They were both the same price. Do you remember choosing which flavour (out of the 5 or so flavours out of the bag of 20 packets of chips) you want for recess in the morning in primary school? Cheese and bacon balls where my favourite trailed by chicken Twisties.
Cheetos ($1 from Coles this week) |
Which flavour did you always pick?

Birthday Presents
I've kinda lost my focus on this blog, the productivity idea fell through and I haven't really thought of another idea yet. I want to have a theme, something different to others but I haven't quite figured it out yet. So I hope my loyal readers will bare with whilst this blog goes through it's phases. Next idea is a weekly post on a product. Hopefully I'll post on the same day every week, currently I'm thinking Sunday as a relaxing thing to do after work. And inbetween those posts I'll hopefully throw in a few posts here and there some inspirations.
As for this post I want to just thank the people who gave me presents for my birthday, I'd like to share some of the things I got.
Must thank the boy for the chocolate rose. Which got a little crushed in his bag and then even more so in mine. I don't want to eat it other the rose will be gone =[ The Favourites are also from him and they are irresistible, as you can probably tell I like my chocolate. Didn't take a picture of the bag he got me for my cleats as they're downstairs, but I'm pretty sure he was sick of my shoes brewing in its plastic bag so he found the perfect excuse to get me a better more breathable bag. And I forgot to include the toy Lamborghini he got me, my dream car =D
The long awaited Muji pen refills from Bens. Thanks soo much =] Though this wasn't really a present as I need to pay him back since I it was just something I asked him to help me buy overseas. His present actually isn't in the picture as my parents have mysteriously hid it somewhere, it was a bottle of Midori and something else you mix with it. Thanks to Abel as well.
The make up and nail polishes from Ben but chosen by ML because no guy wants to go cosmetic shopping. The nail colours are pretty bright and intense, not my usual colours which is good, need some colour. I might do a post on them some other time, my blog has turned into a nail polish review blog recently.
I absolutely LOVE the Donna Hay Magazine. Not only the recipes but the photography as well. Big thanks to Vess and Val of Big Picture Stuff. Do check them out, they have amazing photography and inspirational posts. As you can probably tell I'm pretty excited about this magazine and have tabbed it like mad as there are so many things I want to make from it. They also got me a block of chocolate but I've gobbled that up whilst doing my Marketing Assignment =P
I also got a personalised photo frame from Nal which is sitting on my desk but won't take a photo of. It's soooo sweet. Thanks Nal!
Thanks to everyone who wished me Happy Birthday!
Stay tuned for this weeks product/inspiration/whatever I feel like.

One week down, 11 to go
Not liking uni and I still have 3.5 years to go.
I'm a practical hands on learner which is probably why I like my biomed side because of all the pracs and stuff but like LECTURES kill me. I absorb pretty much nothing. But I'm pretty sure this is the case for everyone.
Hasn't been a very productive week, thankfully it's only first week so I can relax a little.
Been trying to read the first chapter of my marketing book and it's soooooo damn dry and the words are printed almost into the spine so you have to keep making a 90 degree L-shape to read it. Bloody annoying
I've gotten one textbook so far, one is on its way from the UK and the other was supposedly "misplaced" by the courier service and the company has no more stock...But I got refunded which is good but now I have no textbook and my only options are to buy it from uni for $128 or buy it off ebay from a different seller $98 inc express shipping.
Today I got some new apps on my phone cos I was sick of reading the marketing textbook. First one I got was a photo editor just for the fun of it. Then I got an alarm app which is supposed to try and wake you up during light sleep not deep sleep so you don't wake up grumpy cos you got blasted out of your dream. And the third app and probably most helpful is the Metlink App, although the android one is crap compared to the Apple one. But its better than taking photos of the bus timetable and zooming in every time you need to check when the next bus is.

Back to uni
My 4.5 week holiday has unfortunately come to an end and it's time for uni again.
Though it was a good last few days.
-My bestie's b'day party
-Went clubbing (though the hangover in the morning was badddd. Worth it? YEP)
-Spending time with the boy after him being overseas for a few weeks
-Watching the final Harry Potter =[
I still have a list of things to do this morning before I head off because I've obviously been too lazy to do them in the holidays.
This semester is going to be insane.
Hopefully I'll find time to post some interesting things
But most of all I hope to stay on top of all my work this semester.
Good Luck to everyone back at uni today!

Product: BYS Nail Polish Cracked - Black
A little off the productivity trail BUT the best and probably only time I apply nail polish is when I'm watching tv/dramas/youtube. Multitasking!! And there's less chance you'll smudge it. When I was in Geelong I had an hour to kill in the morning so I decided to walk around a tiny Kmart opposite to where we were staying. I encountered a whole shelf of BYS nail polishes which I wished was in my room (they had soooooo many colours). I spotted the cracked finish ones (much like OPI's Kate Perry Black Shatter except at a fraction of the price) and just had to get it. $4 which is pretty reasonable for a nail polish.
The consistency is thin but one layer is all you need. I don't know how it is so pigmented and whether it is only the cracked series that have this consistency+pigmentation, I hope all the other colours are the same as I might go get another one. However I do think you need to apply it when the base colour isn't completely dried yet as the first time I did it, it turned out pretty well but the second time I let by base colour dry completely and the black didn't crack properly it just flaked.
Base Coat
Still wet cracked coat
Dried coat
Hopefully I can figure out why it didn't work out.
Boring post much?

And the count stops at day 10
I can't find the motivation to do the everyday posts nor will I have the time to once I start uni.
So from now on I'm just going to post whenever and whatever.
Hopefully whoever actually reads this blog doesn't mind.
Promise to blog soon

Day 8,9,10
Eeeppppp a little behind
Day 8:
The day I watched my bank account go down down down.
I had a bad day the day before and I went shopping with my bestie and we got some things
In my defence IT WAS CHEAP AS CHIPS!
Total original price was $300 and I got it for $40.
If my maths is correct that's almost 90% off.
Day 9:
Went and played badminton and basketball with my friends
It was pretty fun except now my right side is sore cos my friend was teaching me how to shoot properly in basketball and kept making me shoot and shoot and shoot
Then we went and played monopoly and it was pretty epic
Out for dinner
And then DESSERT and I had a super delicious honkie waffle *droooollll*
Day 10:
Went shopping with my family
Except when we go shopping its never for fun things
Went to officeworks, bunnings, rays outdoors, computer shop
ALL THE GUY SHOPS!!
Also watched a pretty intense mind boggling movie, The Adjustment Bureau.
Sorry not exactly the usual type of blog
Hopefully I'll get back to those tomorrow
Plan for tomorrow
-Finish organising photos
-Finish organising recipes
-Clean desk
-Check marketplace for textbooks

Day 7
Today
-Seriously go job hunting
-Clean desk (HALF DONE)
-Oganise some more recipes (I'm 95% done)
-Do a food blog post (I HAVE AN EXCUSE)
Today was pretty productive however it was a very sad day.
Things were looking good as I got out of bed within 30 mins of waking up
I went job hunting and I was feeling pretty good
Came home and decided to reward myself with tv drama
AND MY LAPTOP DIESSSSSSSSSSSS
my brother spent all day trying to save it
but he can't
well he can if he can get another hard drive since my hard drive completely died
but my laptop is 6.5 years old, not much point
And as a result I've lost my resume
And I gave all my copies out this morning
Which means I have to retype a new one
Which probably doesn't seem like a big deal
But it took me 3 years of "I will write a resume this holidays" before it got done
And then my memory card for my camera screwed up as well
Which is why I had so much time to organise all my recipes as I didn't really have much else to do
Tomorrow
-Going out shopping
-Find some new jeans
-Write up blog posts
RIP Lappy
No photo today
Wednesday, July 13, 2011
Day VI
Today
-Keep organising recipes
-Put straightener away
-Put suitcase away
-Clean desk
-Finish sorting through SA trip photos
-Find a job?
Whoops, only managed to finish half the list
because I ended up watching Hong Kong Dramas
with my favourite Honkie actor, Kevin Cheng
And I paid a visit to my dentist
Now my teeth are all clean =D
Tomorrow
-Seriously go job hunting
-Clean desk
-Oganise some more recipes
-Do a food blog post
I'm having trouble getting out of bed
Really crack down on getting out of bed within 15 mins of waking up
Not 2 hours =.="
Any ideas on how?

Day 5
Productivity: 60% (still need to devise a proper calculation system)
Just wearing some sunnies I got for free when I was at uni games.
My room still looks like a bomb site
I have all my recipes all over my desk and ground because I spent most of today trying to file them all.
I'm going to need the rest of the week to finish them all off.
Today:
-Paid phone bill
-Bought present for my friend
-I unpacked everything but I still have to put my suitcase away
-Spent ages sorting and deleting photos from my SA trip, which means no blog post yet
-Watched Hawaii Five-O, Masterchef, Amazing Race
-Played Wii
Tomorrow:
-Keep organising recipes
-Put straightener away
-Put suitcase away
-Clean desk
-Finish sorting through SA trip photos
-Find a job?
Just wearing some sunnies I got for free when I was at uni games.
Have you said you'll clean something but you never do it?
I've been organising this recipe collection for a year or two now.
This holidays it HAS to get done
Monday, July 11, 2011
Well after 2 weeks of busyness its back to productivity
I HAVE AN EXCUSE OKAY!
because all lazy people manage to come up with excuses...
Here's mine
The day after exams I went to South Australia for a week (I shall photodump soon, once I sort through all the photos)
I spent the next few days going out with the bf cos he was leaving to go on holiday
And then I went to play Southern Uni Games for a few days
Which now leaves me with 2 weeks of holidays left
And a crap load of stuff to do
Plan for today
-Pay phone bill
-Buy present for friend
-Unpack my stuff from Uni Games
-Blog about South Australia
-Blog about recent products
-Organise recipes
Better get cracking!

Day 3
Achieved:
- 2.67 Modules of upskill
- Half corrected physics exam
- Went to a house inspection...just wanted to get out of my own house
Didn't achieve:
-Physics exam
-Physics revision
Productivity 40% Still wasted heaps of time on facebook and youtube
Had this for dinner, I'm not sure what it's called in English but it was really yummy. It was like a treasure chest. It was massive, look how small the takeaway container looks next to it, and it thats one of those deep takeaway containers. Anyways this isn't my food blog but I have no better picture from today to post up.
Tomorrow's plan
-1.3 modules of upskill
-As much physics as possible
