Batemans Bay Trip

This is over a month overdue. I think I should probably get round to writing this/photo dumping.
Batemans Bay is a small town much like Victoria's Lakes Entrance but on the Southern coast of NSW. It was my second time staying there, the first being around 10 years ago. The town is known for they oysters which I have covered on my food blog. Other than that you can fish here. We only spent a few days here so we didn't really look for/find the best fishing spot and time of day for fishing. Although we did learn that morning and late afternoon were when the bites were. Late afternoon was mainly when we landed the legal sized fish. Morning was good for fun and catch little fish which were, if I dare say, cute and good to learn how to unhook fish.

 Little crabs all over the rocks. It's interesting watching them eat.

 Look at all the oysters on the rocks. Free to whoever can pry them off, open them and dare to eat them. Very salty/briney taste.

 Some place a 10 or so minute drive down from Batemans Bay. Tonnes of surfers there.

 Banksia. Actually really pretty.

 Fishing rod. Couldn't be bothered holding the rod, just waited for my line to move.

 Really nice beach place we drove by as well. Skipped stones across the water. Did one epic one, 7 or 8 skips/bounces and it went really far =]

almost a week

Been a horrible blogger lately
Not that I've actually been that busy
but mainly because I have nothing to blog about
Chinese New Year is around the corner
and it's not really a big thing in my family
But I did go out to Box Hill last night
I like how they've moved the stalls down to Whitehorse Rd these couple of years.
A lot more space
Nothing has changed much about the Box Hill fest
Always the dvd stores, the food stalls, the rides, the Buddhist stall and other random ones.
Went to Springvale fest today in the 40 degree heat
And it was worse than the Box Hill one, pretty much the same except with a lot less stalls.

Been spending way too much time on Youtube lately but I've recently discovered luanlegacy and he is sooo funny. Awesome personality. Anyways just came across this vid today and it is the best! I guarantee you will be entertained.

Boredom

   start the water first. i don't like freezing my ass off. skinny people lose heat faster than umm larger people due to volume to surface area ratio! learnt that in biology =]

   no, it's not like i'll know what 90% of the contents are. if it goes into my body like food then i might read the label if i'm bored. 

3. do you moan in the shower like the people on the herbal essences commercial?

   no, those ads are weird

   ummmm....why does this matter? maybe back in the day...

   lol yeah. prefer to do it separately though.

   depends but usually my age. things change when alcohol is in your system.

    like my friend crown signature club since we went together but also the freebies thingo at centro.

    it's monday right now. this weekend i plan to have found a job and be spending some time with the bf since he's coming back.

    lol, from weekend to kissing? y don't you ask K仔.

    don't know much about her except she's somewhere high up there in america. nothing sexy about politicians, unless if you're arnold schwarzenegger.

    no but my laptop is starting to burn my legs

    oooooo, lee hyori? or some korean chick

    too hard to choose. if you could take the best of leehom, kevin cheng, daniel henney, edison (:O shock horror, "he's a bad boy though!!!" but nonetheless sexy) and every other sexy guy out there.

    if you add in "large" before family then yes. i have an uncle who collects model cars and buses and can tell which number bus is approaching the bus stop even though he's up in an apartment and can't see the bus. and i have an uncle who's mad about man utd and turtles, he is awesome :)

18. have you ever smuggled something into america?

    i haven't been to america yet :(

19. does playing the guitar make a girl/guy more attractive?

    errrr i guess if you include all the victorian afl teams

    besides the fact that i don't own a car, i can't fix a car. i'd turn to my dad first thing if i needed any car help.

    i don't really have a problem with it as long as it's not fluoro. everyone has the right to wear whatever they want granted they are wearing someting. 

More Bus Dramas

What's with things happening on buses?
First one was in the morning when I took the bus out to Box Hill
And this couple probably around 15 or 16 years old got on with another friend
They chose to sit at the front of the bus where you have to sit sideways
And they were all over each other the whole trip!
And this old lady got on and sat opposite them but after a few stops she changed seats and sat at the very very front LOL
But seriously, there is a line when it comes to PDA.
And that was like way over it by a mile
Not saying that I haven't crossed it before
But being almost on top of each other on the bus is probably bit too much
and these two schoolkids told them to "get a room"
Which I'm sure was on everyone's mind
Feel really sorry for the friend, having to sit there with them like that
Anyways I know I'm sounding like a bitch
But I miss my bf =[
Been almost a month since I last saw him

Who knew that there would be more bus drama to come on the way home
The bus driver totally missed a turn
And realised after
And decided to take an alternate route straight to the destination
At top speed
Drop everyone off who wanted to get off at the last stop
And then drove back on the actual route for the people who needed to actually get off at those stops
It was pretty funny.
First time I've been on a bus that went on the wrong route

Freaky viet bun guy and QUEST CREWWWW

Today I went to Springvale
and when I was buying some viet pork buns/rolls
the guy who was making my sandwiches (LOL)
was like do you speak canto?
because I think he might have spoken viet to me cept I didn't realise
and I was like yeah
and he started talking canto to me
and added "leng lui" (no idea how to pinyin that but it means "pretty girl") to the end of each sentence
like every sentence and he said it in a slightly freaky way
i really didn't care cos he's just making my sandwich
but mum was like WTF after we left and she told dad about it

Anyways, QUEST CREW is coming to Aus
just between you and me, I LOVE QUEST CREW
Cept I don't have a spare $50 to go see them perform =[
Next time...

Unusual findings and the Viet father

I've been at home for the past 2 days and when I looked outside at 5:30pm I just wanted to get outside and play like a kid.
So I did....until I reached the driveway with a frisbee in my hand.
And mum made me GARDEN!!
I complained but she was like GRRRRRR so I did some pruning and sweeping before going down to the park to play frisbee.
Except frisbee ain't exactly fun by yourself so I went home to get a basketball instead and decided to shoot some hoops.
And as I was collecting the ball after a failed attempt I saw something that should NOT be on a basketball court.
Especially when this basketball court was behind a church and next to a child care centre!!!!
I have no idea how it got there and I don't want to know how.
But seriously?? No one ummmmm "does it" at a park....?
Feel sorry for any kids who decide to go play bball and come across it.

Did anyone read the article on the front cover of the Herald Sun today?
It was quite vague but it was something about a father who went to court for making his kids study too hard to try and get a scholarship.
I never knew you could get charged for it.
One line caught me "pushed his two daughters to complete homework above their academic level"
Have they ever heard of places like Kumon and North Shore? 
Wonder if all the asian parents will be charged as well.
Also it says the father did it so his daughters would get "private school scholarships"
If you don't get your kids to do homework above their academic level then how can they a scholarship? Because won't every kid get a scholarship then?
I really don't get the logic in that.
Also the judge should probably read Pauline Nguyen/Luke Nguyen's story, this father isn't the only one, and publishing a story like this won't stop other fathers from pushing their kids like mad.

In the later years of primary school and start of high school I went to school 7 days a week. 

I hated it.

But now I'm grateful for it.

Black Nails

One coat only, how long will it last?

So I painted my nails today
Black
I want to actually test out the claims of the nail polish
Does it dry in 45 seconds? Yes if you put a super thin coat...but that doesn't even "paint" the nail properly, it's like see through. Takes about 10 mins for a thick coat to "dry" but still is prone to dents and all that stuff for like 30mins-1hr.
Does one coat last 8 days without chips? Testing this atm but I highly doubt it since I has only lasted about 6ish days with 2 coats and topcoat before.
However it is possible to just cover the entire nail with just one coat as the nail polish is quite thick and not runny.
Black is not a very summery colour.....I need new nail polish =]

Regret

I didn't get into Physio
Not sure what to do
Minds in a muddle atm
But right now I've gotten into Biomedical Science/Commerce at Monash
Which isn't bad
Just regretting not trying harder
And for choosing Specialist Maths instead of Food Tech
But I've been regretting that since day one of year 12

New Bedside Table

Bought a new bedside table from Ikea the other day

Technically it's just a side table

But hey it only costs $10

Comes flat packed

Super light

I got black because my desk and bedframe are black

 10-15 mins later

Voila!

No tools needed

Just your hands

Now I can fit everything including my laptop onto it

And can watch dramas in bed without having to worry about my laptop catching on fire

Yes my laptop is ancient, 6 years old

Been pretty good

I've used it for about 350 days a year every year since

But the battery died a long time ago

Except I didn't realise that it is a lot bigger than my old one when getting into bed

and jumped into bed like normal

and scraped the skin off the back of my leg on the corner of the table

Cold Shower

There wasn't any hot water in the shower last night and I froze
Luckily it's summer and not winter so it wasn't as bad as it could have been
But my bro knew there wasn't any hot water and didn't say anything!!!!

But dad fixed it

Anyways Uni offers come out tonight
I'm going out to fed square with my friends
Hopefully I get into what I want
If not....I guess I'll have to try harder this year then

IKEA

 who doesn't like ikea?
my family has a weird completely co incidental habit to going there on public holidays
it all started christmas day 2009 in HK.
i actually have a blog post about that day on my food blog, if you can be bothered finding it
and then this year we ended up at ikea in sydney on NEW YEARS DAY!!
only cos we accidentally broke this glass serving bowl that wasn't ours
and we tried to find a similar one at myer (since it was the only store open on new years at westfield) but it was $100!!!
so we looked up the designer or something online and found out it was an ikea bowl
and it turned out to be a $4 bowl!! LOL
so that's why we were at ikea
and discovered their awesome self serve soft serves!

What we got today

17 pc storage containers for $5.50

A pizza cutter for $2.50

Blue curtain for $3 except we plan on using it as gift wrap

is like a mesh kind of material $3 for 3 metres, cheaper than gift wrap and looks a whole lot classier/better

Quilt cover set $9.99 for king sized bed

I plan on stealing one of the four pillowcases

I'll take a pic when I put it on my pillow

We also got a strawberry plant from IKEA for $3

Yeah, IKEA sells plants?!?!

Also got a bar stool and table but no picture as I haven't assembled them yet.

When I get my place in the future

it will be filled with ikea furniture

ikea is probably the only place i go to which makes me wanna clean/reorganise my room

Crown Casino

So today I went to the casino for the first time since turning 18 with a few friends.
All of us had never been to crown casino before.
It was a good experience although nothing there really draws me in.
Don't really like hanging out (being around) with old people who just press a button all day.
I would say probably 4/5 people there were over the retiring age.
Just walked around, joined the signature club thingo and got $5 free.
Also find the lights and sounds a little overwhelming.

Long time no post

Wow I have been a lazy shit lately. 

Got back from Phillip Island two days ago but I have realised I have not even posted on my NSW trip from a week ago....And I am epically behind in food blogging too =S 

So what have I been doing? 

Being antisocial and hardcore drama-ing =]

Started a new TVB drama called Home Troopers, I know it's one of those crappier dramas if I dare say so but KEVIN CHENG is in it!!!!! He happens to be my favourite TVB actor. In this drama he acts as a 30 year old but in real life he is 41, except he looks super airbrushed/tonnes of make up in the drama. MEH, nonetheless hot =P

Today I drove for about 2 hours which means I have around 23hours done out of the 120 I need. YAY!

Went shopping at The Glen today and came home with some new goggles (since I broke my old ones) and a pair of leggings for just over $10 from David Jones (haha scorrreee).

Probably should go swimming some time soon and get fit. 

Surprisingly I have gotten lighter after eating out lunch and dinner and having cup noodle breakfasts everyday during my trip up to NSW. Yeah...kinda freaky and doesn't make sense whatsoever. 

Anyways I hope to post around every second day or about 15 posts a month. 

Hopefully I can keep it up because what's the point in having a blog if you're not going to post right?

Autumn's Concerto 下一站，幸福

Taken me 19 eps to realise the main character is Vanness Wu. When did Vanness become 那么帅? And when did his hair become so short? However it does explain why his English is so good.
Anyways Autumn's Concerto is a pretty good drama. And the kid is sooooooo cute.
Thank you K仔 for "giving" it to me. I believe I may have just taken it from you're hard drive, I don't exactly remember. Anyways missing you heaps. Hope you're having fun. 米修 米修 好像你！
